Abstract

Three phase of induction motor are widely used in industries due to require little maintenance, high efficiency control, rugged construction and uncomplicated. The three phase induction motor operates in constant speed motor and it is difficult to control the speed. This motor does not have a capability of variable speed operation and lower of the energy efficiency. For the three phase induction motor, there are several method that can be applied in control the speed of the motor. But for this research, it mainly focused on the constant voltage I frequency (v/f) control speed where if the ratio of the v/f is maintained constant, the magnetizing flux are also constant. Therefore, the maximum torque remains unchanged and the motor is utilized in this method. Besides, by applied this method, it also can get the good range based on the result that have been done in this paper by using the MATLAB software. The torque speed control characteristics were obtained and analysed by developing the MATLAB codes that shown in this research. In addition the amount of inductance between stator and rotor is decrease, lets the machine achieve its steady state quicker with slightly lesser jerk. By using this method, it is simple, economic, easier to design and easier to implement in open loop. This research will gave a superior way of controlling the speed of induction motor.
