Abstract
Louver is a ventilation device that ensures the air flow pass through the building and eliminate the undesirable element to pass through. The main goal of this project is to improve the performance of the louver for building application. Besides that, the performance of louver is predicted by CFD simulation with used the Acusolve software. A 3D geometry domain was generated to simulate at three difference louver angles 25, 35, and 45 degree. Furthermore, turbulence model with k-omega equation is used to compute the CFD simulation. As a result, louver fin with 25 degree was present a lowest pressure difference with 18.69 Pa and the least area of separation in the geometry. Additionally, louver fin with 45 degree was showing a higher pressure difference with 44.14 Pa and large of the separation region in the geometry. As a conclusion, the highest louver angle will create an increase of pressure difference and the outlet velocity. Finally, louver with 25 degree fin angle is suggested to be applied for commercial building application due to the best performance results.
