Abstract

This project describe about the implementation of design and analysis of automotive component for aluminium alloy casting using Solidwork as a design software and Anycasting as simulation software. The scope is focusing on design in water pump component in die casting with Anycasting software to define defect occur in the die casting such as porosity, cold shut and etc. Besides that, this project also focusing on the filling of the material that will give data and information flow of material to determine the defect. The method use by designing a die casting in Solidwork and run analysis using Anycasting simulation. From the data achieved, the analysis will classified into several result which is filling sequence, solidification time, particle tracing, macro shrinkage, temperature and velocity flow material into the die casting. It’s found of from the result Design 1 has the fastest filling time and solidification time which is 15.8704 sec for filling time and 53.5767 sec for solidification time between the Design 2 and Design 3.
