Abstract

Public restrooms provide an important image of the country to foreign tourists. A poor hygiene management by the user will lead to bad perception/comments that are not good for our country that is often visited by foreign tourists. Therefore, this public toilet must always maintain high standards of hygiene. This study was inspired after seeing the dirtiness of public toilets at several places. The aim of this study was to produce a new way of keeping public toilets clean by adding some new technology in the pumping system that has to do with the toilet door. A new pumping system has been designed to overcome this problem because the toilet needs to be pumped before the user going out through the door of the toilet. The method used is to test circuit in software before transferring it to the actual circuit. In addition, the model is designed using software Sketch Up and connection design model circuit components have been designed using Proteus 8.0 software. As a result, a good idea of circuit designed between the pumping system and automatic door locked system has been develop. If this technology is implemented, the problem of 'dirty toilets' will be overcome because it can maintain the level of cleanliness in very good condition for the next user. Good feedback was provided by the user if the system is applied. The study generally covers on the operation of the automatic locked door, pumping toilet system that integrated with Arduino for the controlling purpose while basic circuit pumping system and how to build a coin machine will not be covered.
