Abstract

Traffic situation nowadays is getting worse and will be difficult in the event of an ambulance in emergency situation. This traffic situation is including at traffic light area. Traffic light plays such important role in traffic management to control the traffic on the road. During traffic congestion at traffic light area, it is difficult for ambulance to cross the road especially at main road which involves many junctions. Therefore, the “Automatic Traffic Light Controller for Ambulance” is used to help the ambulance crossing the traffic light during emergency situation. Automatic traffic light controller for ambulance using PIC is a project to program priority based traffic light controller for ambulance. During an emergency situation at traffic light junctions the ambulance can trigger the traffic light to change from red to green to make path for its way. If the traffic light shows green, the time duration will be delayed until the ambulance finish crossing the road. Signal transmission will be done using RF link. The traffic light operation will turn back to normal when ambulance finishes crossing the road. This project was successfully designed, implemented and analyze. Refer to the analysis result it state that the maximum range detection for this project is 55 meters and time delay increases when the distances between transmitter and receiver increases.
