Abstract

The understanding of fundamental concepts that we meet in Electrical engineering is facing the problem of using abstract notions like charges, fields or induced current in materials. Furthermore, those notions are manipulated using even more abstract vector or differential operators. This is the main reason why most of students in domain of electrical engineering do not have a deep understanding of the fundamental concepts, even if they are able to solve standard problems. A technique to prevent this understanding problem is by providing them the ease to use or to explore computer applications (systems) that allow naturally visualizing physical phenomena involved in the studied concept in real time, using efficient simulation and graphical tools. However, a deep understanding of fundamental concepts in scientific and technical domains is gained only if the learner can have direct experience with the involved physical phenomena. This approach is actually introduced in Computer Aided Education (CAE) concept, where its computer applications are usually named CAE systems. This research deals to the development of CAE system that enables the students gaining deep understanding of fundamental concepts in electrical engineering domain, by using the existing numerical analysis system (MA TLAB) and graphical programming language (Lab VIEW).
