Abstract

Software projects become complex due to complexity of business requirements in enterprise business environment and in distributed system environment. A Web-Based Transactional Application Architecture Framework (WTBF) is developed to simplify the development of complex software projects using template approach that contains assembled pieces of reusable software components. The framework provides a generalized component based architectural template that can be reused by the re-users (software developer and independent software vendor) to develop n-tier transactional applications (distributed application) within a specific domain or for their new software projects. Thus, the re-users can concentrate their development tasks on business components instead of spending time to redevelop the basic software infrastructure from the scratch. This paper also discusses on how the WTBF can reduce the software project cost indirectly; especially to reduce the development time of the project and to optimize the distribution of the development task among the project team members. Software development is an evolution process and the right technology is vital for maintainability and scalability in future. The WTBF framework is developed using Java 2 Technology and the Model View Controller (MVC) defined by OMG is used for architectural model.
