Abstract
This project proposes the use of digital signal processing (DSP) approach for real time monitoring of Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. Fast Fourier transform (FFT) was added to the system to analyze the frequency value of ECG variations. The spectrum from FFT can be used to estimate ECG frequency values. For implementing this project in real time. DSP processor TMS320C6713 was used as ·target' for processing the ECG signals. The ECG waveform. captured by bio-amplifier unit was transferred and calculated by the DSP processor. The DSP processor was interfaced to a computer as ' host', to display and monitor the ECG signal and spectrum figures. A graphical user interface (GUI) was developed on a personal computer using Visual Basic 6.0 to monitor and store the data efficiently.
