Abstract
Data mining is the process of exploration and analysis, by automatic or semiautomatic means, of large quantities of data in order to discover meaningful patterns and rules. The ultimate goal of data mining is prediction and predictive data mining is the most common type of data mining, one that has the most direct business applications. Basically, this project will use fuzzy techniques and clustering to mine the network traffic and automatically generate rules to accomplish that. It will aide the network administrator to produce the accurate rules as network traffic keep changes accordln.g to the demand of the node and the software that is used and the type of accesses.
