Abstract

This project papers is recorded as Management System For a Book Publication Company for Faculty of Information and Communications Technology under Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia. This document records the process of development for Management System For a Book Publication Company from beginning until the high-level design in design phase. Management System For a Book Publication Company is developed to support the current system. The problems under current system not have security data system, difficult to gain information with fast and precise, All calculations are done manually by the admin. So, there will be some human mistakes that can cause loss book order, royalties, book stock and book sales and difficult to print out a report. Meanwhile, the current system also can' t minimize cost, time and energy usage when to analyze order information, sale information, royalty information and etc. The aim of the system is to ease publisher manage publishing book by providing a computerized management more efficiently. This system is providing authenticated login user operation when want to log in. The users of this system are Authors and Publisher. For author this system is providing book registration and author registration. Meanwhile, for publisher this system is providing operation order book, employee registration, check a literary, book sale and royalty. The output this system are the authors can know literary status, royalty and book sale performance between other authors. The publisher can know performance from publishing book until calculate a royalty. Database Lifecycle (DBLC) is chosen as the methodology of this project. Flow chart and Data Flow Diagram (DFD) are used in representing the system flow and the data flow of both current system and to-be system. Entity Relationship Database (ERD) it using for make relationship with tables in database Therefore, this system can help to manage publishing book with efficient for support authors and publisher to use this system.
