Abstract

‘Innovation and Creativity Showcase: The Commercialization of Research and Intellectual Property Assets’ programme was organized by AKEPT Centre for Leadership Research and Innovation (ACLRI) in collaboration with Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) to ensure human capital for the country, especially those in higher education, are not only the best in quality but more importantly can function as a catalyst for excellence, become icons and role models who spearhead creative and innovative thinking to students and the community at large. The programme has outlined three objectives as follows: i. To determine constraints and opportunities in the efforts of knowledge sharing regarding potentially commercialized products, through interactive networking system involving universities, industries and government. ii. To generate roles and responsibilities that need to be carried out by local universities in promoting innovative research products with commercial values, as well as enhancing a knowledgeable and educated society. iii. To develop a systematic approach and methodology in promoting and cultivating innovation that will ultimately improve the nation economy. The programme was conducted as a 2 days programme. There were twelve speakers with each of them was given thirty minutes sharing session and 15 minutes Q&A. Below are some questions raised.
