Abstract
The term streaming refers to the technology of broadcasting audio and video files over a network. Because of the often very large size of audio and video files even after compression, streaming technology allows end users to begin experiencing the audio or video files while the files are still downloading. In this way, very large files can be served over a network and user doesn't have to store the multimedia files in their mobile terminal that has less data storage. The aim of this project is to develop a working system to stream to and playback multimedia contents such as audio and video from a content-based server on a mobile terminal such as personal digital assistant (PDA). The streaming can be done by using Wifi or Bluetooth technologies.
