Abstract

PROFESSOR Datuk Ismail Hassan has been appointed rector of Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia, succeeding Datuk Dr Mohd Ruddin Abdul Ghani who has been made parliamentary secretary to the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry. The appointment of Ismail, 56, formerly the university's deputy rector (academics), is effective from June 16, 2004 to June 15, 2007. Ismail, from Bruas, served as a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 1973 and was dean of the Electrical Engineering Faculty before he was made KUTKM deputy rector.
