Abstract

Augmented Reality application for Arabic Storybook aims to develop and investigate new technology to be implements in Arabic Storybook for primary school. The difficulty that the student face upon learning new language that is rarely been used in Malaysia are the lead to this integration of this project. This project includes primary student participation using the Augmented Reality application to learn Arabic in school. The research involved 10 primary students that have never experience an AR application before. All interactions are being observed and analyse throughout the testing process. The students are given an exercise to study their understanding after using the application. The study resulted in three keys findings (1) Augmented reality attracts student interest that enables them to be more curious and focus to learn new language. (2) Augmented reality is potential as supporting tools in engaging student in classroom activity. (3) Augmented reality promotes better understanding through practical experiences. In conclusion augmented reality provides opportunities to learn new language easily and effectively. Besides, augmented reality technology is a newly evolve technology in Malaysia and implementing this technology to the primary student would be very beneficial to both country and the society.
