Abstract

Every computer needs an antivirus program to protect the computer from any threats or malware. Virus is one of the examples of malware. Virus may interfere the computer operation by slow the computer’s process, destroy and steal personal data and delete data and files. Virus Scanner and Removal System Version 2 is a tool that will help users in detecting and removing virus effectively. This system is the improvement from the previous system, Auto Virus Removal version 1 (AVRv1). Virus Scanner and Removal System Version 2 will be more user- friendly and give more optional to user in handling the virus. The objectives that need to be achieved are to study the antivirus architecture, develop removal module function and develop quarantine module. In this system , it will use signature-based technique in detecting the virus and focus on developing delete and quarantine function. The previous antivirus programs are not detecting the virus broadly. It is only a single virus can be detected at a time. Other than that, users are also do not given an options to delete or quarantine the infected files. Most of the antivirus programs automatically delete and quarantine the viruses and the infected file. Sometimes a virus should be removed manually. This can become a technical process that should only undertake after users have experienced with the windows registry and know how to view and delete the system and the program files in Windows. As the conclusion, Virus Scanner and Removal System Version 2 will successfully develop the delete module by deleting all the infected files and develop quarantine module by changing the infected files directory and change the files permission.
