Abstract

Nowadays, a number of applications using User Datagram Protocol (UDP) as transport protocol over the internet. New streaming application was rise recently such as IPTV and new P2P protocols increase the usage of UDP. Hence, a UDP utilization monitoring system is needed to monitor all the activity of UDP and concerns about the stability of internet. UDP utilization monitoring system is a web­ based system that develops using Hypertext Pre-Processor (PHP) and MySQL database. This system will operate at Linux environment. This system consists of packet capturing mechanism and traffic viewing mechanism. The system can retrieve statistic value on overall UDP usage, UDP usage on each port, UDP packet length and information of Jog file. User can view the usage and statistic of UDP usage in web browser. The statistics of the UDP utilization will be shown in graph to let the user can have a quick view of the statistic. The statistic of utilization in each UDP port that are using also will be shown in graph. In this system, user can retrieve the statistic of utilization in the past and compare it. The target users of this system will be network administrator, network manager, and network engineer.
