Abstract
Waste rubber dust from waste tire rise significantly due to the development of automobile industry. The recycling of the waste rubber dust should be considered a priority. So, this research focuses on the Effect of Mold Design on Dimension Accuracy of Hot-Pressed Waste Tire Derived Reclaimed Rubber (WTRR). Characterization of WTRR been done in order to determine the behavior and properties of rubber compounds produced. The main objectives of this research were to study the accuracy of dimension of the WTRR after hot pressing using two types of molds (dumbbell mold and square mold) as well as study the surface roughness of the samples after hot pressing using TGA analysis and SEM microscope. SEM images allow the surface rheology of the samples to be compared. The thermal stability of recovered rubber and lost proportion of volatile component will be investigated using TGA analysis. SEM images are utilized to analyze the physical characteristics of pressed materials in addition to surface rheological investigation. Dimension accuracy of reclaimed rubber after hot pressing influenced by the shrinkage phenomenon, loss of volatile compounds and so on.
