Abstract
The weather has a significant impact on agricultural productivity. It has a significant impact on plant growth, development, and output; pest and disease incidence; water requirements; and fertiliser requirements. According to previous research, implementing IoT technology to monitor field weather conditions can help farmers improve crop yields and productivity. Unfortunately, farmers in Malaysia are far from optimal and still use traditional farming methods, resulting in low crop yields. The lack of IoT technology leaves farmers vulnerable to crop failure. Therefore, this project aims to design and develop a farmer-friendly IoT agriculture monitoring system named Easy-Agri, which is easy to assemble and implement to increase farmers' acceptance of IoT technology in their fields. Easy-Agri is a portable, farmerfriendly IoT agricultural monitoring system consisting of two main components: a main module and a sensor module. Each sensor block is uniquely designed and easily snaps together with the main block using small magnets embedded in each block. Without a basic understanding of IoT and electronics concepts, Easy-Agri allows farmers to quickly learn how to integrate the system into their fields, troubleshoot and maintain it themselves, without the need for on-site expertise. Bland-Altman analysis and user experience experiments will be performed to verify the feasibility and performance of Easy-Agri.
