Abstract
Ergonomic in workstation is very crucial to be considered while designing workstation to avoid any risk factor while the workers performing their task. Workstation design is one of the major areas which ergonomist can improve the relationship between human, machine and the environment. Next, manual material handling tasks include the transport or support of a load, including raising, lowering, moving, dragging, carrying, restraining or holding manually using human power and strength. Manual material handling task need the workers to do the tasks repetitively and frequently by hourly or daily production targets. High repetitive motion, when combined with other risk factors such as high strength and awkward postures, can lead to repetitive motion injuries Therefore, this project that are take place at Golden Clay Industry Sdn. Bhd. Yong Peng, Johor that are focus on packaging workstation is to investigate a few problems which are to determine the ergonomic workstation design problems, analyze the body posture during the repetitive task and productivity of the workers. In order to analyze the body postures, the anthropometry measurement, workstation measurement and labor productivity is collected. All the data will be collected using selected methods and tools in order to improve the current workstation and the posture of the workers during packaging task.
