Abstract

This research is entitled “Decision Making Analysis for Packaging Machine at Textile Manufacturing Company”. This decision making analysis involved with four (4) packaging machines at textile manufacturing company, Prym Consumer Malaysia Sdn. Bhd, Tanjong Kling, Melaka. This research aims to suggest the suitable decision making for the packaging machines at the production line. There are two (2) decision making involved with the consequences that must be considered for each decision making. The Engineering Economy Analysis is applied to decide the best decision economically which resulted to buy option. However, there is consequence occurred which no space available to place the new machine. So, the current machine must be eliminated. Further analyses are done by collecting the current data and applying time study method to study the capacity of current machines. Then, the verification is made by extracting the results from time study and compared with current data. The comparison is included with the capacity utilisation and efficiency of current machines. This is to ensure the results are good enough before recommending to the company. The results shown that only one (1) machine need to be eliminated. The decision making analysis procedure defined in this, research, the research objectives are gained and the results of decision making for the packaging machine at the production line is elaborated.
