Abstract

Air Pollution Alarm System (APAS) is one system designed for process data directly received from sensors. About 5 different type of sensors use and locate at the factory area. These sensors are responsible to measure the concentration of carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (03), sulphur dioxide (S02), nitrogen dioxide (N02) and dust. Data send by sensors using Global Sending Messaging (GSM) to store into database. Then APAS will operate on each sensor's value; make Air Pollution Index (API) calculation to generate air quality value. Data will send by sensors to the system by each hour. What APAS do is, it will compare the result of quality value with the standard API and producing colors alarming based on them. APAS can use by anyone as long they need to make registration first for administration uses. User may be a student, researcher, environment person or public people. They can use to view the status of factory anytime and usually they need to do so as their reference to do their research. APAS developed using Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 with PHP programming language while MySQL is the database use store all the information.
