Abstract

Alcoholic Liver Disease is a disease that is caused by excessive ingestion of alcohol. Although many people drink alcohol on regular basis, how alcohol harm the liver still remains unknown as not everyone who drinks develop liver damage. There are many tests to excessive alcoholic liver damage. Alcoholic Liver Disease Expert System Using Multilayer Feed-Forward Neural Network is an expert stand-alone system meant for doctors or specialist within the same area to predict whether the patient has alcoholic liver disease or not. The purpose of this system is to predict patient's liver condition. Rapid Access Development has been chosen as a methodology for this project and will be implemented along the system development process to ensure the objectives of the project can be fulfilled. Technique used in this project is Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) with Back-Propagation algorithm. Back-Propagation is one of the most used learning algorithm in MLP. It is a supervised method and is an implementation of the Delta rule. Data used for this particular project is bupa dataset taken from the Machine Learning Respiratory website. The result of this project is the condition of the patient based on the blood test result taken from the patient.
