Abstract

Modern systems of work display a potential change of physical activities to mental activities,increasing the jobs with mental activities and reducing the jobs with physical activities.This study is carried out to acknowledge proved to screen the lifting task,with analysing the current lifting posture using DELMIA v5 for exposure of body discomfort can contribute to occupational injuries and back pain on workers.Coupled with measuring recommended weight limit and lifting index using NIOSH 1991 lifting equation are applied to suggest suitable recommended weight limit and evaluate manual lifting task experience of Malaysian industrial worker. In brief on the result,this study determines the correlation between effects of manual lifting posture on back pain experience of Malaysian industrial worker population.Additionally,the lifting posture with significant risk can be distinguished and suitable recommended the weight limit of material handling will be suggested and used as a basic information to prevent Musculoskeletal Disorder Disease in workplace.
