Abstract
The Magnetorheological Damper Is A Semi Active Suspension System. It Is Also Known As The MR Damper. This Damper Is Wide Variety Of Application Especially In Automotive Suspension System Where Controllable Damping Is Desired. However, Mostly Modern Vehicles Use Passive Suspension System. This Suspension System Has Limitation Performance And Does Not Achieved Maximum Comfort. This Is Because The Spring And Damper Are Fixed. Thus, The MR Damper Will Achieve The Maximum Level Of Comfort And Stability Of Handling. The MR Damper Will Be Test By Using A MR Damper Test Rig. Analyse The Maximum And Minimum Value Of Current Until The Movement Of The MR Damper Stop. Then, Perform The Sixth Order Polynomial To Model Hysteresis Behaviour Of The MR Damper. The Polynomial Model Is Developed Based On Curve Fitting From The Experimental Results And Consists Of A Pair Subsystem Namely Positive And Negative Acceleration Which Correspond To The Upper And Lower Curves. Then, Design The Modelling In Force Tracking To Able Cope Variety Types Of Signal Input. It Can Be Concluded That The MR Damper Will Improve The Handling And Maximize The Driving Comfort.
