Abstract

The suspension system allows a vehicle’s tires and wheels to move up and down over bumps and holes in the road. It is the system of tires, tire air, springs, shock absorbers and linkages that connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows relative motion. Suspension system is the main focus for this project report. Thus, the objective of this study is to develop of suspension system for multipurpose remote controlled powered platform. The study was conducted using Altair Motion View analysis to study the best compatibility for suspension design proposed for condition of the static ride. The analysis cover up the front and rear suspension with the SLA and Parallel suspension proposed as the main focus to be studied and analysed. This method proves direct relationship between vertical wheel displacements with suspension geometry parameter given. The result shows that suspension geometry influence the movement of tire and handling of the vehicle based on the design proposed. Design of suspension will help engineer to carefully control the motion of the wheel throughout suspension travel. In addition the study is to run the experiment using different geometry parameter and analyse the influence of difference design with almost the same specification in order to identify which suspension design proposed is better for the future development.
