Abstract

All medicinal product used should be stored and transported under good condition which is in recommended temperature by vaccines manufacture. These ensure that the quality of the medicinal product is maintained. Refrigeration system monitoring should be used to show compliance of the temperature with recommended temperature. The purpose of this project to build a system that can monitor refrigeration system temperature for medical and to build the controller system that can be able to alert designated off site personnel via phone. Generally, vaccines are fragile and must be keep refrigerator in ideal temperature which is 2˚C to 8˚C. When vaccines are exposed to the temperature below or above, their potency and protection will reduced. In this project, NI9211 Module will be use as controller to monitor temperature of the refrigerator and Microcontroller PIC16F877A will be use as controller to trigger Global System For Mobile Communication (GSM) which will be use to send alert message via phone to user when the temperature almost outside from the recommended temperature. Therefore, there are two programming methods which are by using LabVIEW software and PIC Basic Pro software. The LabVIEW software is function for the interface and control the NI9211 module and PIC Basic Pro software is used to program controller for Microcontroller PIC. The result and analysis of this project will describe in this report.
