Abstract
Life cycle assessment is a tool to analyze the impact of a product to the environment which has five phases involved, which starting from extraction of raw materials, manufacturing process, used on the product, transportation and end of life. This study is focused on hand dryer product that be used in Malaysia. The percentage of energy and carbon dioxide emission of hand dryer is calculated to know whether the design of hand dryer is included in Eco design product. The calculation of the CES-EduPack software is done using a new design prototype of the hand dryer. The overall result is good and encouraging because it is much better compared to tissue paper, but it used is slightly higher from the standard hand dryer which the emission of energy is 4.07 x 103MJ and the emission of CO2 is 267kg. Thus, it is recommended revising the design for better performance.
