Abstract
The suspension system allows a comfortable ride while travelling over rough roads. It also keeps the tires remain in contact with the road and maintain the stability of the vehicle. Formula Student racing car is a competition that takes students out of the classroom and allow them to apply theories on the textbook to the real racing car competition and real work experience. This event has expanded around the world and students can take a chance to promote UTeM globally. This project title is to design and fabricate the suspension system for Formula Student Racing Car. The design of suspension system must follow the Formula SAE regulations and rules. The steps of this project are to design a suitable suspension system design in order to produce enough strength of suspension system with optimum handling and cornering performance. The selected design is analyzed by using CATIA V5 R19 software to examine the strength of that suspension system design. The outcome of the design shows that the suspension made of circular hollow steel and the force applied is 800 N.
