Abstract

Lately, the long-nosed bullet trains have certainly been invented to be cozier and faster than ever. However, the cost of the material used will increase due to this long nose cone. The mold for the nose part bullet train can make a million of car and trucks, (Blaine, 2010). Due to this problem, the nature concept of Kingfisher is then proposed as an improvement design. SolidWorks is the most common software used to design the bullet train nose. Besides, the existing design, Zefiro 380 is chosen due to the nose profile similarity. Both designs will be assessed throughout the structural and dynamic analyses. The structural analysis consists of linear static and fatigue analyses where in this fatigue, linear interpolation is used as fatigue predictor. Continually, ANSYS FLUENT is the dynamic package used in dynamic behavior amongst the models. Pressure, velocity distribution and viscosity fluid are the elements to be examined in this dynamic mode. Moreover, the design efficiency is used to examine the applicability of the design. As a result, the improvement design (Kingfisher bird beak) can be considered as a better performance due to its applicability in structural and dynamic analyses when compare to the existing design model.
