Abstract
School attendance has evolved from manual process to automated process. However, in some schools manual attendance system is still in use. This is because that existing system may not be scalable due to poor system design. This project is to design and develop a prototype so that the above problem of scalability can be shown to users. The process of developing the prototype is divided into four phases. First is the analysis of manual and existing system to determine the problem of design. Second, design of prototype, which is called as School Attendance System. Then, implement the prototype using Oracle database, PL/SQL, Java and Java Server Page (JSP) programming language. Finally the prototype is tested.
